About Me

Who Am I?

Hi, I'm Andrey Starenky! I am a Computer Science (BSc) student at Western University who is passionate about software development and data work. I have worked on various different projects such as my own Android Apps, Data Miners, and Websites, picking up coding skills in languages including Java and Python. From working for my own startup developing Android Apps and Websites, to competing in International Hackathons, I have wide array of skills and experiences that drive my passion as a developer. By interning as a software engineer for IBM, HP, and Sun Life, I have gained valuable experience working with a team on production grade software projects.

VR Android Application Hack The North (uWaterloo) Hackathon This VR Android Application allows the user to enter any job posting link. The app will then generate questions based on the posting, and simulate an interview in VR (real room, asks you, listens to your responses), and grades your performance with feedback.

Software Engineer Intern - IBM 2024

Developed an AI-powered Customer Issue Analysis add-on service for IBM Cloud Pak for Data
  • Applied LLM models to datasets of customer issues to generate insights and resolutions
  • Developed using Python, containerized via Docker, deployed via Ansible, OpenShift, Kubernetes
Implemented fixes and updates to Zen dataplane deployment playbooks and API in Golang and Ansible

Worked on HP Anyware Manager, a service used by 400+ major corporations:
  • Migrated a core SAML authentication library and resolved 5 security vulnerabilities
  • Optimized a Mongoose CosmosDB script to reduce database overload by 97%
  • Implemented concurrency logic to eliminate 90% of flaky test results
